Week 10 Part 1

Adding Personal Touch: There are many different ways to add personal touch to advertisements. Many people have had different experiences that effected them in different ways. When companies use pathos (emotions) to advertise, they might have scenarios where people can relate to them. For example, a Volkswagen has come out with new advertisement of there latest SUV. Instead of the SUV accelerating from 0-60, the SUV decelerates from 60-0. This could appeal to a lot of people and families because they could have experienced close calls to car crashes and want a safe car that can stop quickly and avoid crashes. Another example would be, Audi's rs6 Avant advertisement. A young kid grows up fascinated with fast cars, Audi specifically. Throughout the kids life, he saves up for a car he likes, life goes on and gets married. After all these stages of his life Audi transitions back to they're different models, all progressing as faster and faster cars. Eventually, the couple is going to have baby, they're driving in a Fast Audi on the way to the hospital. A couple years pass and they're watching the baby grow to a cute, young child. The guy eventually purchases his dream Audi, the rs6 Avant.  This advertisement definitely appealed to a lot of peoples emotions because everyone can relate to growing up and saving for a car, getting married, having a child, and watching they're child grow up. This is a great example of when to add personal touch to an advertisement.

When not to add personal touch: When you are trying to hire somebody, stating things that a very factually, and definitely politics. When you are trying to hire somebody I usually do not see companies appealing to people's emotions by using scenarios that of general experiences. It is more formal and sometimes shows benefits of the job that they're hiring for. Stating things that are factual like news or brand stuff. Lastly is politics, and when it comes to politics most news shows are covering those topics and not much emotional appeal goes into advertising them.
