Week 4 Post 2
2 Websites I use or visit frequently
-https://www.amazon.com/
Firstly Amazon.
Amazon is an amazing website and everyone can agree based on its "prime" membership, which allows for one day shipping or a couple day shipping depending on the item you purchase. First off, the contrast of the colors (blue header and white background) that Amazon uses works well with their website. Nothing is poppy and the colors are plain which make for a nice outline for the website. Secondly, the alignment of the product page is well thought out. Once you click on a product and are viewing that product I like how it pops up similar items right below it to get opposing opinions on products. Also, the use of hierarchy on Amazon's website is well done. From the popular options at the top of the page to the important information about a purchase you are about to make, everything works well.
What keeps me coming back to Amazon, which everyone can agree on, is their one day shipping. It is very convenient and beneficial to have Amazon prime so you can order stuff to your front door in no less than 2 days. Also, what most people don't know is that Amazon is a search engine like Google. You have probably never had a problem finding anything or looking around for a product on Amazon because it is a engine and everything you search usually comes up right away. So, nothing needs to be changed about Amazon, everything they have done is amazing and keeps me and other customers coming back daily.
Secondly, YouTube.
I use YouTube frequently and probably not in a healthy amount. Everyday I use YouTube for over and hour for finding important information(videos) and simply just to entertain myself. The alignment of content keeps me coming back. There website is very simple, but that simple alignment forms a really clean platform. On the left side of side of the page is the only options that I choose from and it takes no time to go to where you want to go. Search bar at the top, which is very smart, important content on the left side: Home, subscriptions, library, history, etc. Lastly is the contrast of colors. YouTube has branded their company as a social media platform and have prioritized the colors white and red as their main color scheme. The only red that appears on their platform is for the logo in the top left corner, everything else is white. To be honest, nothing about YouTube needs to be improved. The only thing that they should improve is allowing freedom of speech.
