Week 8 Part 2

Visual Content: visual content is the only way for our business to sell any products. Our business is to sell t-shirts and things you can wear, which obviously have to be advertised with something visual like social media.

Company #1: Oakley(10/15)
- One of my favorite sunglasses/clothing brand. Use all sorts of social media, but there main source for all of their frequent posts is Instagram. Oakley has 2 million followers which a good amount for their type of company. They surprisingly do not get a lot likes in comparison to how many followers they have and post every couple of days. Also, they receive under 1,000 comment on almost every post in the last two months which I find very surprising. I have noticed a trend that they use to sell their products and gain more reach. Oakley seems to be in collaboration with the NFL. They post photos of NFL players wearing their products and gain the most reach from those posts. And they use the hashtag: #OneObsession. they have a post of a vest and they use hashtags like: vest, men's, and fall gear. What they are doing that could help me improve our company is to post pictures of many different types of people wearing out products in different environments.

Company #2: Carhartt(10/15)
- Carhartt is a clothing/outdoors-wear brand that I have been wanting to purchase products from for a long time, but do not have the money too. Carhartt mainly uses YouTube and Instagram, but Instagram seems to be the main social media platform for many companies. Carharrt posts like every other day and every two days, which is very effective to reach people to buy your products. They have 664 thousand followers and similar to Oakley, do not receive many like and comments on their posts. A trend of hashtags in every post from Carhartt: outerwear, outworkthemall, and for example, they have a post of a vest and they use hashtags like: vest, men's, and fall gear. What they are doing that could help me improve our company is to post pictures of many different types of people wearing out products in different environments.
Company #3: 24 Hour fitness (last post: 10/14)
-I have a membership and go to 24 Hour Fitness almost everyday. I honestly just came across it because I wanted a gym membership and it was close. I have never seen any social media posts from them until I searched them up on Instagram. So, Instagram is there main social media platform that they use and post almost every day. Like Oakley and Carhartt they do not reach a lot likes compared to how many followers they have as well as comments. With the hashtags, they correspond to what the post is about and there isn't any trend with each post having the same hashtag. I looked at a lot of the comments and a lot of them are saying that the customer service is horrible which I have never noticed, but I do not like the content of their post, so I will not be using 24 Hour Fitness as an example to better out company.
Company #4: (10/15)
- Patagonia is one of the sickest companies. They make the best outdoors gear and are very popular with almost every outdoor/mountains activities. Patagonia posts everyday, but does not post everyday on YouTube which is another social media platform that they use. Similar to the last three companies I spoke about, Patagonia has 4.2 million follower and can't even reach a post with more than 300 thousand likes/views. Also, they do not receive barely any comments. But, what Patagonia does well is they post about everything from snowboarding, to hiking, to stormy weather, and even videos of people enjoying their product. Patagonia uses hashtags, but not as frequent as Oakley or Carhartt. Their hashtags relate to the post that they posted, but every post does not have a hashtag in it. What they are doing that could help me improve our company is to post pictures of many different types of people wearing out products in different environments.
